Born on March 11th in Nampundwe, Central Province, Mbuyasboy faced adversity early in life with the untimely passing of his parents, Mike Muwowo Snr and Joyce M. Muwowo. Raised by his grandmother, he experienced the nurturing environment of a typical middle-class upbringing in the early 2000s, which laid the foundation for his character and aspirations.
Educated at Mine Secondary School in Kabwe, Mbuyasboy excelled academically while also nurturing his passion for music. Immersed in the local hip-hop scene, he honed his skills by drawing inspiration from influential artists such as Tommy Dee, Slapdee, and Macky2.
Continuing his education at Kansenshi High School in Ndola, Mbuyasboy attained his Grade 12 school certificate, demonstrating his determination to succeed despite personal loss and academic challenges.
In 2012, Mbuyasboy faced limited access to recording studios upon returning to Kabwe. Undeterred, he temporarily redirected his energy into football until his sister encouraged him to pursue higher education. Enrolling at Paglory College Of Education, Mbuyasboy pursued a Secondary Teachers Diploma, specializing in English Language and Religious Studies. Despite the profound loss of his grandmother during his first year of college, followed by his grandfather less than three years later, Mbuyasboy graduated with Merit in 2017, showcasing his resilience and dedication to academic excellence.
Throughout his journey, Mbuyasboy‘s grandmother remained a guiding force, instilling in him a sense of resilience and a deep appreciation for his cultural heritage. In honor of her enduring influence, Muwowo adopted the professional alias “Mbuyasboy,” symbolizing his reverence for his grandmother’s memory and the values she instilled in him.
Currently, Mbuyasboy, is making significant strides in the music industry with his unique sound and poignant lyricism. His music resonates across various platforms, captivating audiences on radio stations, in clubs, and on the streets.
