Memorial Park Honors Dandy Krazy with K100,000 Burial Space
Zambia is set to bid farewell to one of its music icons, Wesley Chibambo, popularly known as King Dandy Krazy, who tragically passed away after a fatal road accident on the Kabwe-Kapiri Mposhi road. His burial will take place at Lusaka’s Memorial Park, in the prestigious Inner Circle section, a space valued at nearly K100,000 and reserved for the country’s elite.
The upgrade to the burial site was made possible by Memorial Park management, who stepped in to honor Dandy Krazy’s legacy. Initially, the site was purchased by well-wishers, but the management elevated it to the Inner Circle as a tribute to the celebrated artist. The heartfelt gesture has been acknowledged by the Chibambo family and members of the entertainment industry.
Musician and advocate B Flow shared the news on social media, expressing gratitude to Memorial Park and highlighting the significance of the gesture. “We are grateful to Memorial Park management for their generous donation to King Dandy‘s family, upgrading the burial site to the prestigious Inner Circle,” B Flow wrote. He also thanked the well-wishers who initially contributed to securing a resting place for the late icon.
Prominent entertainment figures, including ZAMCOPS Board Chair Gloria Kabonga, Macky2, Mampi, Roberto, and Ba Yoka, joined the family to witness the announcement
King Dandy, remembered for his 2011 hit song Donchi Kubeba, which became the campaign anthem for the Patriotic Front under the late Michael Sata, was renowned for his humor, lyrical ingenuity, and energetic stage performances. The tragic accident that claimed his life also took four others, including his dancer, driver, and backing vocalist.
The funeral service will take place tomorrow January 6, 2025, at the Show Grounds in Lusaka before King Dandy is laid to rest in the upgraded burial space. Zambia mourns the loss of a true music legend whose contributions will forever remain in the hearts of his fans.
