ZAM Secures Funeral Cover for Artists Through FSG Zambia Partnership

The Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) has announced a historic partnership with FSG Zambia Limited to provide comprehensive funeral insurance coverage for its members. The agreement, which becomes effective on October 1, 2025, is set to ease the financial and emotional challenges that come with funerals, ensuring Zambian artists and their families receive a dignified send-off. Through this scheme, members will pay affordable monthly premiums while accessing funeral service packages tailored for individuals, families, and extended relatives.

FSGZ will oversee the program, handling applications, policies, claims, and funeral services, while ZAM will be responsible for promoting the scheme and ensuring smooth coordination with its members. Speaking during the signing ceremony, ZAM highlighted that the initiative marks a critical step towards ending the “begging bowl culture” often associated with artist funerals. This milestone reflects ZAM’s rebranding efforts and commitment to supporting musicians in tangible ways. While discussions to secure health insurance for artists are ongoing, this achievement is being celebrated as a breakthrough for the Zambian music fraternity.
